How many times a day do you touch your face? How often do you change your pillowcases? Do you remember to remove your make up every night? These are just some of the places where hidden bacteria can cause acne. There are several factors that can cause acne, exposure to bacteria is just one of them. Think about the many objects that your hands touch a day. You might not always have access to soap and water to wash your hands, so it is important to keep your hands off your face. Resting your chin on your palms might feel soothing, but there are all kinds of germs on them from touching keyboards or doorknobs or any other shared surfaces.
You should always remove your makeup when going to bed: Your skin works hard at night to renew itself. Having makeup on top of your pores only makes it harder for your skin to rejuvenate. Not washing your face is just asking for your skin to become a bacterial breeding ground. Using an aloe-based makeup remover will gently remove the debris that makeup leaves while not harming the skin.
Make sure to change your pillowcases often. Your pillowcase has bacteria as well as dust on it. Removing your makeup before going to bed is just one preventative measure in ensuring clean pillowcases. Additionally, washing your pillowcases regularly will lessen the chances of acne outbreaks.
Another hidden bacteria can include your cell phone (wiping it off with a cotton ball with a bit of rubbing alcohol could solve this problem). What other places do you watch out for that can cause acne?
