Men's vs. Women's Skincare

skin care lines sell products made specifically for men? I find it funny that big beauty tries to make us think that men’s skin is different from women’s just to make an extra buck. Well let me tell you something. It's not! Skin is skin. The physiology between men’s and women’s skin is the same. Just because men can grow a beard doesn't mean they can't use the same skin care as women. No matter what your ethnicity or gender, your regimen should consist of cleansing, exfoliating, moisturizing and protection. That's it. Just four simple steps and you are done.

Men however, do have an advantage over women because they shave their faces almost everyday with a razor. They are properly exfoliating and that's why men look younger in that area as they get older. That skin is always regenerating new skin cells, giving the shaved skin a smoother, softer texture. Women, on the other hand, probably don't want to exfoliate their faces everyday by shaving. It's just not practical. That's why we need to use an at-home chemical exfoliant, such as a product that contains glycolic acid. Bottom line, you can save money by purchasing skin care products for your skin type, not your gender.

What skin care lines have you seen that carry a line specific for men?
