Winter Skincare Tips for Sensitive Skin

Our last post featured tips on winter skincare. Along with those tips, it’s important to note the increased sensitivity your skin might be feeling in the colder months—especially for those who already have sensitive skin.

While moisturizers with protective elements like sunblock are important, there are other things to look out for with sensitive skin in the winter. The harshly cold weather is often counteracted with extreme warmth in buildings and public transportation. Combined with the layers of clothing we wear in the cold months, the skin can feel abused by the extremities of heat and cold. Investing in a humidifier is one way to climate control your environment. Also, remember to be mindful of the clothes you wear. Bulky fabrics can wreak havoc on your skin, so pay attention to how your skin reacts. In addition to wearing a moisturizer with sunblock remember to tend to your lips as they are prone to cracking in the winter. Wearing a lip balm can help with this.

Nevertheless, skincare still takes front and center. Using an acne kit formulated with pharmaceutical grade aloe can help you exfoliate, cleanse, moisturize and protect your sensitive skin year-round, while keeping your sensitive skin’s needs in mind.
