Sunscreen – Can’t Live with it, Can’t Live without it

Summer is almost here, along with those dangerous UV rays. Yet how many of us can actually say we put on sunscreen every time we leave the house? Probably not many, but did you know you are supposed to put on sunscreen everyday regardless of the weather?

During the sizzling summer days to those cold winter nights, daily application of sunscreen is the only way to protect and keep your skin healthy. So why do people refuse to use sunscreen, even in the summer? Well, here are the top excuses patients give to their dermatologists to justify not wearing sunscreen.

1. I forget – An easy answer to this problem is to replace your lotion with other lotions containing SPF.

2. Sunscreen makes me breakout – There are lotions that exist with acne-fighting ingredients

3. I look better tan – There are sunscreens out there that allow you to tan while still being protected.

4. It feels greasy – Some sunscreens have active formulas which does not leave an oily film afterwards.

5. It takes too long – A quick solution to buy an aerosol-based sunscreen.

6. I don’t want a vitamin D deficiency – Exposing your skin (even with sunscreen on) to the sun 15 minutes, twice a week is enough to generate an healthy amount of vitamin D.

Excuses are just excuses. If you want healthy and radiant skin, you have to put on that sunscreen no matter what.
