Will Popping A Pimple Make It Go Away?
As long as people have been suffering from acne, the temptation to pop either a
whitehead or a blackhead seems to be at the forefront of everyone’s mind. But what are the implications of
popping pimples, and does it actually serve as a sort of treatment?
The truth is that only in rare occasions will popping a pimple actually yield the desired effect;
and usually it leads to further blemishing of the skin. Usually, popping a pimple will actually push
the pimple causing bacteria further beneath the skin, causing a further inflamed blemish. The root of a pimple
is buried deeper in the skin than your fingers can reach to remove the entire pimple. What results from attempting
to pop a pimple is a split; usually you remove a fragment of the visible pus but you will also burry the root of the
pimple deeper in the skin which will cause more swelling and redness than was originally present. In addition,
it will prolong the amount of time the blemish is visible on your skin. In extreme cases, if you continue
persistently attempting to pop the pimple, you may be left with scabs and scars.
The key is not to pop the pimple, but instead to be patient. Leaving it alone and applying your regular acne medication
is the key. This means you will need to make sure you use high quality acne products that will get rid of your pimples,
but not damage your skin. The life of a pimple is cyclical, and the pimple will disappear. By popping your pimple you are
risking further infection, blemishing and scaring. The last thing you need is a scar to remind you of the pimple that is no longer there.
